Hair color question??????

So i have been coloring my hair black for a really long time now and i want to color the under part of it bright pink (like really really bright pink) so i was wondering if i bleach the hair first how blond do you think i need to get the hair before i can color it pink? where would i buy really bright pink hair color other than hot topic?

also would this just kill my hair if i bleached it since i have been coloring it black for so long?

in order to bring your hair light enough to get a really intense hot pink you will need to bleach it about four times. I used to dye my hair black for years and when I brought it to platinum blonde it took me four processes of about an hour each stretched over a week-long period, and that really killed my hair. here is what I suggest:

bleach the part you want to dye using a 40 volume developer, leaving it on for about 45 minutes to an hour. to get the color to lift more you can put a shower cap on and sit under heat, like a blow dryer or even just sitting in the sun will help. wash it out, deep condition it (I recommend Redken Butter Treat), and wait at LEAST two days. then repeat the process. just keep repeating that process until you have gotten it to a light blonde. it might take just two times or it might take up to six depending on how thick your hair is, how dark it is naturally, and how saturated with black dye it is.

once it's a light blonde you can dye it pink. but FYI, your hair WILL be really dry and damaged, so treat it really nicely and deep condition at least once a week. the dye will also fade relatively quickly because of the dryness of your hair so you'll need to touch it up regularly to keep it vibrant. a good way to do this is to mix a little of the pink dye into your conditioner and use it when you wash your hair in the shower, just to keep the color punched up between touchups.

youll prob have to bleach ur hair anyways.. black dye is really hard to get out.. id bleach it a couple of times too to get it blonde.. but then your hair will be really dead too

I have black hair. I did die it once to go blond and it really ruined it. My hair fell out, it all broke off from trying to bleach it. You have to bleach your hair to get it pink. It is not worth it.

Coloring your hair is really hard. Ummm... my hsair is naturally dark brown almost black and i want RED highlights. But shouldn't go from black to pink. Even if you blech it the pink would look kindof reddish and fade away. This has happend to my friend. I think you should dye it a litghter color and keep going lighter until it's alomost blonde then try the pink.

you should get veryy blod first. And by having black hair that would be very hard. If you have thin and sensitive hair it will probably be destroyed.

Well, when is the last time you dyed your hair. Is your hair in healthy condition? Obviously if you put a lot of stuff on your hair it's never going to be 100% healthy so it's going to hurt your hair...but I don't think it would necessarily make it too horrible if your hair is in good condition right now.

If you're bleaching it before you dye it pink (which is a must) you're going to want it as blonde as you can get it. Other than hot topic, Sally's beauty is a great place to find hair dye. Special Effects is a good brand and you can buy it online at amphigory.com if you are willing to buy online.

I have naturally red hair (a lighter red) and without bleaching it, I've used L'Oreal Color Rays (http://www.lorealparisusa.com/frames.asp... in the ******* color and got a very bright pink that lasted for a long time even with my hair (my hair doesn't hold dye that well)
